Harry Potter fans get ready; Daniel Radcliffe and Richard Griffiths will be reprising their roles in Equus which is expected to open up on Broadway at a Shubert Theatre in September 28th. Radcliffe plays the role of the troubled teen Alan Strang and

Griffiths plays the role of the psychiatrist Martin Dysart.

Equus is the story of a 17 year old boy who is deeply disturbed and is being treated by Martin Dysart the psychiatrist. There was much controversy surrounding the show when it opened on London’s West End due in part to the fact that there is a lengthy nude scene during which Strang (Daniel Radcliffe) blinds six horses with a spike.

The original Broadway production of Equus, which opened in 1974, ran for 1,209 performances and started Peter Firth and Anthony Hopkins.

Both Griffiths and Radcliffe have stared in the series of Harry Potter movies as Uncle Vernon and Harry Potter respectively.
