The cast of the revival of Broadway’s Young Frankenstein will be heading to the recording studio on November 12.

The original cast recording should arrive in stores just after Christmas on December 26^th. Doug Besterman, who is the orchestrator for Young Frankenstein will be producing the CD.

The production stars Roger Bart, Megan Mullally, Sutton Foster, Shuler Hensley, Andrea Martin, Fred Applegate and Christopher Fitzgerald.

Roger Bart who stars as Dr. Fredric Frankenstein in Young Frankenstein currently on Broadway is temporarily out of the show due to back problems. According to a press statement, Bart is responding to treatment and is expected to return to the show soon. Matthew LaBanca is currently taking on the role in his absence.

The show officially opens on Broadway at the Hilton Theatre on November 8^th. Young Frankenstein features music by Mel Brooks and book by Brooks and Thomas Meehan. The show is directed and choreographed by Susan Stroman.

The cast includes Megan Mullally as Elizabeth, Sutton Foster as Inga, Christopher Fitzgerald as Igor, Fred Applegate as Inspector Kemp and the Hermit, and Shuler Hensley as the Monster.

Roger Bart, Danny Burstein, Bebe Neuwirth and Rebecca Luker will be honored with Broadway Beacon Awards at the Inside Broadway’s 25^th Anniversary Benefit on Monday October 15^th at 6PM. The benefit will be held at the McGraw Hill Building Auditorium. The event will be hosted by Pia Linstrom and award presenters include director Robert Jess Roth, actress Karen Ziemba, and playwright A.R. Gurney.

Proceeds from the benefit will go to Inside Broadway, an organization which helps introduce young people to theater. The benefit will also include a gala concert featuring Broadway and Off-Broadway performers.
