The new musical Desperately Seeking Susan will be hitting London’s West today October 16th at the Novello Theatre.
Many people are probably familiar with the 1985 film of the same name which starred Madonna and Rosanna Arquette. The show will feature hits from the punk group Blondie and will open officially November 15th.
Emma Williams will be taking on the role of the free-spirited Susan (Madonna in the movie) and Kelly Price will be playing Rosanna Arquette’s character Roberta. Other cast members include Mark McGee, Alec Newman, Jonathan Wrather and Leanne Best.
The story focuses around Roberta, a bored housewife who finds adventures for herself through the personal ads and her fascination with, a New York City drifter, Susan.
The musical is written by Peter Michael Marino and directed by Angus Jackson. The show is choreographed by American Andy Blankenbuehler. We’ll we be seeing this on the Broadway stage anytime soon??
